Martin has been a plaintiff’s trial lawyer since 1993. In addition to being a Manager for Big Auto, he is also a co-founder, principal, managing director and the head of legal review for Virage Capital Management LP, an investment advisory firm founded in 2013 that specializes in funding lawyers and law firms around the country. He is also a founding partner of the law firm Shellist Lazarz Slobin, a civil litigation firm based in Texas that focuses almost exclusively on representing plaintiffs. Since 1994, he has handled a broad array of cases including personal injury, commercial disputes, breach of contract, discrimination, wage and hour claims, and more.

With years of legal experience and knowledge, Martin has been a part of successfully negotiating settlements for thousands of clients. He has also served as lead counsel in state and federal court cases, including at trial, and has successfully argued cases before state and federal appellate courts. He is also a member of the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates, and of other professional legal associations including the National Employment Lawyers Association, the Houston Bar Association, the Houston Young Lawyers Foundation, and the National Association of Distinguished Counsel – Top One Percent. Martin was named a Rising Star by Texas Super Lawyers in 2006 and has been named a Texas Super Lawyer every year from 2008 to the present. He is also a Board Member of the National ABS Law Firm Association.

Martin is on the Board of Managers for Big Auto and lends his deep experience to managing the firm.  He does not provide legal services to Big Auto, other than as co-counsel in the state(s) in which he is licensed: Texas.
