Edward Ondarza

Edward founded Virage Capital Management LP, an investment advisory firm founded in 2013 that specializes in funding lawyers and law firm around the country, where he is currently a principal, managing director and portfolio manager. Edward’s work in the litigation finance space has enhanced the operational structure of law firms across the country, improving the experience for clients. Before that, Edward launched and managed several other investment advisory businesses. His roles included chief operating officer, chief compliance officer and portfolio management responsibilities.

Prior to launching Vantage Advisors in 2005, Edward worked on a strategy to pursue the acquisition, aggregation and sale of U.S. government-guaranteed debt to global institutional investors. Prior to that venture, Edward was a managing director of National Bank of Canada. He served as president and a founding member of NBC Global Risk Management, Inc., a subsidiary of National Bank of Canada, which was the bank’s financial commodity trading and structuring business.

Edward was part of Enron Corporation from 1997 to 2001. He was a director and later a vice president responsible for global development and management of Enron’s trading, marketing, investment, operations, and energy products for the pulp and paper industry. Edward joined Enron after selling Paper & Print Management Corp, where he was a founder and pioneer of a business model providing financial risk management products to the forest products industry, a model that is still in use today by market participants and financiers in the global pulp and paper markets.
